Dec, Thu 30th, 2021 Posted in : FAQ, News By : CES 0 Comments

If you live in an older home, apartment, or have an older property for your business, you may start to notice signs that you have bad wiring. Like any other component of your home, over time your electrical wire can fray and get damaged. Additionally, your modern home might require a higher electrical load than the original system was designed for. If you notice any of the following signs of electrical wiring problems in your home, give us a call for maintenance, repairs, and rewiring services. In this article, we will cover a few of the more common signs that your wiring needs repairs.

Your Circuit Breaker Trips Frequently

One of the most common signs that your electrical system needs repairs is if the circuit breaker is tripping constantly. A single circuit breaker trip isn’t anything to be worried about and can happen for a variety of reasons. However, if it keeps happening it shows that your electrical system is not effectively handling the electrical load you are putting on it. You should immediately contact an electrician to help perform upgrades and repairs.

You Hear Buzzing/Crackling Sounds

It is common for electrical systems to make buzzing sounds when there is a higher voltage. But if you notice a loud buzzing or crackling sound coming from your walls or near outlets, it can be a sign that there is an issue with your wiring. Additionally if you notice any sparks when plugging in appliances or turning things on, you should hire an electrician to come take a look, as these can be the early signs of an electrical fire.

Burning Smells or Scorch Marks Near Outlets

Similar to hearing sounds from your walls and outlets you should also look for signs of electrical fires. Scorch marks around outlets are often signs that your electrical system is beginning to fail. Additionally, if you smell smoke around your property this can also be a sign of an electrical fire. Electrical wiring often over heats when it is taxed with too high of an electrical load. You should immediately call an electrician if you notice any signs of an impending electrical fire.
